Hello from Hoi An

January 01, 2026

Hi — I’m Trang. If you’re reading this, you probably found my site because you’re moving to Hoi An, visiting for a while, or already here and looking for a sitter you can trust. Either way, welcome.

I’ve been caring for foreign families in Hoi An since 2018. Families from the US, Australia, France, the UK — some passing through for a few weeks, some who’ve been here for years. Most of my work comes from one family telling another. This blog is a small, slow project to share the same kind of advice I find myself giving in person.

What I’ll be writing about:

  • Where to take kids in Hoi An, by season and weather. Beaches, parks, cafes where parents can actually sit down.
  • Rainy-day ideas, because in rainy season you’ll have a lot of these days. Things that work in a hotel room or apartment with kids.
  • Small things foreign parents wish they’d known earlier — food safety with kids, traffic, scheduling around the heat.
  • A bit about Vietnamese culture for kids — songs, a few words, the things my own boys grew up with.

I’ll add posts as I have time between bookings and my own family. If there’s something specific you’d like me to write about, message me on Facebook and I’ll add it to the list.

— Trang
